I have had a personal twitter for quite some time now where I follow friends, famous celebrities and musicians, along with accounts pertaining to my interests. Making a twitter for this class has given me the opportunity to use Twitter as an actual tool rather than just for laughs. I mostly interact with the EME2040 account and their questions, but I have followed a lot of twitters pertaining to the teaching field, FSU, and Tallahassee, learning much information from those accounts. I can use Twitter as research tool when I am a teacher by following accounts such as other teachers worldwide and the school system I work in's accounts.
As the education system is advancing to match technological advancements, the students without access to technology are getting left behind. The digital divide can come in many forms, such as an outdated computer, no internet access, or no computer at all. This lack of resources that some students face leaves them behind in technological skills compared to other students that have access. As a teacher I will be sure to do what I can in lessening the divide. I will be sure to note which students do or do not have access to what, along with not giving out assignments that favor students with access to technology.
Academic software is a tool that can be used by teachers to aid in teaching lessons. I believe it can be beneficial when paired up with interactive lessons from the teacher themselves, rather than solely computer screens. I would love to implement Photoshop in the classroom and allowing the students to express themselves through creative means that are different from the usual. I would also love to implement Rosetta Stone if I were to teach a foreign language, to give the students extra practice through the software.

  1. Twitter can get you a lot of resources, but it is also a big jungle (easily get lost in it). What type of resources do you think is the most accessible on Twitter?
